Soft giggles and low hoots filled Snohomish High School’s Performing Arts Center at this year’s Mr. SHS pageant.  With several strong contenders hoping to steal the title, the competition was sure to be a battle to the end.

The search for a new security guard has begun

Gavin Heinemann, the security guard at Snohomish High School for three years, left the school on November 30, 2012. The process of hiring a new security monitor began before he left, and will continue until someone is found to fill the spot of the popular security guard.

Heinemann, who is a 2005 graduate of SHS, was hired by the University of Washington Police Department. He will attend police academy first, but following his training he will become a police officer of the campus. READ STORY »

Students selected from Snohomish High School to be part of All State and Northwest bands

Five band students from Snohomish High School were chosen to spend their mid-winter break in Portland, Oregon with the All-State and Northwest band groups.

“They went through a blind audition, which is like a regular audition, but the judges can’t see who the player is,” Director Pete Wilson said. “It removes personal preferences from auditions so that everyone gets a fair chance.” READ STORY »
