ASB elections are happening on January 14th. Here is what presidential candidate Jake Hammond had to say.
Q: What sparked your interest in going to office? Why president?
A: Well, it’s not a power trip at all. I’m currently the junior class vice president, so I know what it takes to be a leader.
Q: What is your past experience in leadership and what qualifies you to be president?
A: Every day you have to come to school, every day I come to school and try to make every student here at SHS feel important and needed.
Q: What are your plans for the future after high school?
A: I plan to go to the University of Washington, to become a medical professional. I don’t know what in yet.
Q: What do you think our school needs the most? When you think of change what is your most prominent thought?
A: When I think of change, I think of the bullying level here- I don’t like it. The saddest thing about bullying is that it’s the easiest thing to fix. When I see it, I stop it.
Q: What makes you different from the other candidates running for president and why should we vote for you?
A: You should vote for me because I try to be the best that I can be every day.
Q: What quote do you find most inspirational throughout your life?
A: A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, and a great leader is one who inspires the people to have confidence in themselves.
