SHS struggles to find replacement cheer coach

SHS is having a difficult time finding a cheer coach. Former coach Abby Goff turned in her resignation last year, and ever since then the squad has been trying to find a good replacement. Although Goff is helping the team while they find her replacement, the squad is afraid if they don’t find a coach soon they won’t be able to make solid future plans for their upcoming season. Panther Band plays for USO fundraiser

On May 22, the SHS Panther Band played songs in honor of Memorial Day at the New Castle Golf course. This event, called the Red, White and Blue Classic, was a fundraiser for the USO. It is a golf tournament to raise money for their cause of supporting American troops. Celebrities, athletes, and wounded veterans come to play golf and hear festive music. GPHS evacuates in response to bomb threat

On Friday, May 18 Glacier Peak High School experienced a bomb threat. The threat came from from a student in their own school. The student wrote in a Spanish textbook the supposed time and the date for it to take place. The administrators took caution and evacuated all students at 9:00 a.m. READ STORY »
SHS ROTC honors soldiers on Memorial Day

SHS ROTC took part in a 21 Gun Salute to veterans and military family cemeteries on Memorial Day, May 28.
The salute on Memorial Day will have seven cadets from Snohomish High School’s ROTC travel to Everett, Snohomish, and Monroe cemeteries in honor of lost veterans and military family members. Yearbook distribution is the culmination of the hard work of one class

Today is the day annual will be distributed, and it would not be possible without the annual class that each year put out a new annual.
Ever thought what it takes for the annual to be made each year? According to Kate Obukowicz the annual teacher, the process starts in the summer. Student Nia Trimbo says, “It’s when the class gets together to brainstorm and develop concepts, with stories and pictures, and decide what will go on what pages and how it will look.” READ STORY »
One debate career ends while team does well at Catholic Nations

The SHS Debate team pulled together to bring home a few victories from the 2012 Catholic National Debate Tournament. The awarded students included Junior Jamis Barcott and Sophomore Alex Sapadin for speech, Juniors Katelin Harris and Max Zinkand for duo speech, and Junior Anna Pisac and Senior Shannon Harris for public forum debate. Pisac and Harris were not only awarded, but also were the only SHS debaters to mate it into octo-finals. Students and parents receive Panther Inspirational Award

At Senior Recognition Night the Parent Club recognized two senior students and two adults that have contributed to SHS through service and involvement. The Panther Inspirational Award is given out to the most inspirational people. To meet the criteria, they do above and beyond what is expected of them. They are quiet heroes. They have overcome significant disadvantages or have helped others to do so while not normally receiving awards or special recognition. READ STORY »
Barbecue ends another year for Panther Pals

On Thursday, May 31 Panther Pals attended their final event of the year with their elementary school pals, the Panther Pal Barbeque. Even due to poor weather the barbeque began as scheduled at 4:00 p.m., and many showed up and had a great time. They enjoyed hamburgers and played games of football and soccer on the field. Seattle Model A Club visits SHS

Snohomish High School students got a surprise as they headed to lunch today. The campus promenade was lined with eight Model A Fords courtesy of the Model A Club of Seattle. The cars were built between the years 1929 and 1931.
