GPHS evacuates in response to bomb threat

On Friday, May 18 Glacier Peak High School experienced a bomb threat. The threat came from from a student in their own school.  The student wrote in a Spanish textbook the supposed time and the date for it to take place. The administrators took caution and evacuated all students at 9:00 a.m.

This was the second time this year GPHS has received a bomb threat. The first threat was during first semester and was written on the bathroom wall. They have evacuated the same way both times and the evacatuations lasted about an hour long. “I don’t really feel uncomfortable, more embarrassed that the people who wrote the threats hate the people in our school enough to threaten it.” Junior Caris Ristoff said, student at GPHS.

Matters such as these handled by the school district and the Snohomish County Sheriff Station.  “Staff and student safety is a priority within our district. When we learn of threats such as the May 18 bomb threat, we take them very seriously and act accordingly.” Kristin Foley, Communications Director said.
