Chess team excels in WESCO

The SHS chess team played amazing games Thursday night while participating in the annual WESCO Chess Jamboree. Four different schools took part in the competition but Snohomish, last year’s WESCO chess champions, came out on top. READ STORY »

Girls basketball tryouts coming up

Tryouts for the SHS Girls’ Basketball team are right around the corner.

The 2012-2013 season was successful with more wins than losses. The girls won 15 games and only lost nine last year. Senior Callie Harwood predicts that the toughest opponent this upcoming season will be “Lynnwood because they have a lot of returners and were a strong team last year.” Harwood was admitted to the hospital halfway through the season and was not able to finish last season and “that makes this basketball season so much more exciting,” Harwood said.  READ STORY »

WESCO Cross Country Championship

The SHS boys and girls cross country team participated in the WESCO cross country championship, last Saturday. A total of 11 schools participated in the meet. The girls’ team came into the meet winning the last two years.

At the end of the event the girls came in first place with Jackson High School coming 11 points behind. With the win, the Snohomish girls team garners its third consecutive championship. The boys’ team came in a close second behind Jackson with a 15 point difference. READ STORY »

Panthers Fall Short on Senior Night

The Snohomish Panthers lost to the Mount Vernon Bulldogs 20-10 after an intense football battle last Friday night at SHS. The panthers spent most of the game trying to overcome an early deficit due to a 1st quarter touchdown by the bulldogs. READ STORY »

SHS cheer joins Sea Gals in support of Breast Cancer

The SHS cheer team performed at halftime of the Seahawks game in front of over 70,000 people at CenturyLink Field last Sunday. They got this opportunity because the girls submitted an audition tape and were selected based off their dancing ability. READ STORY »

JV Girl's Basketball Triumphs over Mount Vernon

Snohomish dominated Mount Vernon in the girls’ Junior Varsity basketball game last Friday.

The game’s final score was 55-23. Nearly tripling their opponent’s score, the game featured both exceptional offense and defense by the lady panthers. READ STORY »

Snohomish Victory 56-43 against Lake Stevens High School

The Snohomish JV Boys Basketball team won against rival school Lake Stevens High School with a score of 56-43.
