Fun things to do on Winter Break

For those of you students who plan on staying in and watching Netflix through your whole winter vacation, here are some quick tips for some fun, useful, and inexpensive things you can do instead!

1. Go ice skating with friends. Comcast arena has a public ice rink, it’s close to Snohomish and it’s inexpensive. This is the perfect winter activity because you only have to be cold for an hour. READ STORY »

Tim Kostersitz

Tim Kostersitz is a junior at SHS with a particularly interesting hobby: collecting and repairing old typewriters. Kostersitz says he doesn't know why he got into his hobby; he was just always fascinated with the technology. His dad taught him everything he knows about engineering and has been keeping up with his hobby for about three years. He says he has fixed about six to ten typewriters total. READ STORY »

New Equestrian Club broadens horizons for horse enthusiasts

Some exciting new clubs have been created this year here at SHS, one of which is the Snohomish Valley Equestrian Team. This club opens many doors to kids. “You don’t even need to own a horse,” says club advisor and agricultural science teacher Stacy Lischke. “You can borrow a horse from another member or even a neighbor to ride at lessons and compete at events with.” READ STORY »

Kris Jones, a science teacher at SHS, loves teaching high school because of the maturity level of students. She teaches at SHS for the school spirit and friendliness Snohomish exerts.

Q: Where are you from?

A: Everett...I was born in Seattle, but I remember when I was little I went to elementary school, middle school and high school in Everett.

Kaitlin Anderson, a Snohomish High School student, has a weird hobby. She collects funky quotes that she hears her friends and family say.

She decided to start collecting these quotes because she was at her friend’s birthday party, and the girls at the party started saying random things. She started writing down what they were saying so she would be able to look back and have a laugh about what her and her friends used to say. READ STORY »

The Benefits of the SHS Library

The internet has impacted many things in our world, and for students, an area that has been impacted greatly are the libraries.

The internet has changed the way we can read and checkout books from libraries. For example, eBooks are available for checkout at the Snohomish Public Library, along with audiobooks.
