The Girl Who Collects Quotes

Kaitlin Anderson, a Snohomish High School student, has a weird hobby. She collects funky quotes that she hears her friends and family say.

She decided to start collecting these quotes because she was at her friend’s birthday party, and the girls at the party started saying random things. She started writing down what they were saying so she would be able to look back and have a laugh about what her and her friends used to say.

She keeps them in a note on her phone so it’s easy to access and to add any that she hears daily; with the friends she has, she uses it a lot.

She has over 200 quotes on her phone at the moment. Her first and favorite quote is Tanning Chatum, a quote a friend at the birthday party said. “She was being completely and utterly tired and having a sugar overdose. She was trying to say Channing Tatum but, instead, she ended up saying Tanning Chatum," said Anderson.

“The funniest quote I have would probably have to be ‘Sunsquat do you agree?’” This happened to be during the birthday party and the girl who said this was very hyper on candy.

She has some very odd quotes, but the most unique to her is Fudgernutters California Juice. “I honestly don’t even remember having this quote or the backstory at all.”

The deal with her quotes is that most people will not understand them, but still might find some of them hilarious just because they sound funny to them. Most people she tells a quote to end up getting this long backstory as she tries to explain what they mean, some people still don’t find them funny, but that's okay, because it’s basically just one big inside joke.

With 200 quotes may seem like a lot but she wants to keep collecting and maybe make a book of all of the facts that she has. “I don’t have too many facts, I need more!”
