Real Impacts of Poaching

The foreign animals that you have come to love and learn more about since you were a child are going extinct due to poaching. Although poaching isn’t as big of a threat in North America as it is in Asia and Africa, the issue is not something that should be taken lightly. Not Your Body, Not Your Decision

Schools everywhere have certain dress codes, telling you that you can't wear shorts or dresses above a certain length, and you can't show a certain amount of your shoulders or stomach. They do this so that your appearance won't be "distracting" to the staff, the other students, or to keep it "appropriate." SHS Students Deserve Better Lunch Options

Huskies Win The Apple Cup

Everyone is aware of the rivalry between the Pac 12 University of Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars. The 285 miles between the "Dawgs" and cats isn’t enough when it comes to the Apple Cup; a traditional football game between two universities in the same state.

Even if you’re not a NASCAR fan, you probably heard about the fight between Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski last Sunday night, November 2. Three weeks ago it was Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart, and his respect as a driver had taken a big hit as well. READ STORY »

Shows like “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” “Bad Girls Club,” and many more are followed weekly by teenage girls and other pre-adolescent children around the world. The drama and fighting in Reality T.V., although appealing, raises expectations for appearance, highlights aggressive behavior, and promotes unhealthy relationships. Does the poor behavior of these T.V. stars mold our perspective of reality and influence the way we see the world? READ STORY »

School Times Affect Our Academic Performance

Can you imagine having algebra first thing in the morning? Functions, graphs and the value of X at 7:30 am? It’s tough, especially because algebra is an important class to be able to pass. Here’s my question: is it just me who is having difficulty, or can the early morning starts be effecting us in negative ways? READ STORY »

If You Don't Like It, Don't Watch It

You don’t know what you’re doing is wrong until you’re caught. You might have kissed or hugged someone on campus before and not faced consequences, but your next kiss on campus could be your last.
