Olivia Ragland is Crowned the 2015 Homecoming Queen

Olivia Ragland was named the 2015 Homecoming Queen during the SHS coronation assembly.

56th Annual SHS Serpentine

Students at SHS took part in the annual Serpentine parade through Snohomish on Friday.
Over two thousand people took part in the parade with SHS alumni, community members and businesses all participating in Serpentine’s 56-year tradition by cheering and waving on the sidewalks.

Victories of Homecoming Week

Several students celebrated large victories over homecoming week. Seniors Kobe McDaniel won Player of the Week and Senior Megan Hoeth won the Homecoming 2015 Ford Mustang. Senior Olivia Ragland was also crowned SHS' homecoming queen, which you can read about here. READ STORY »
Band Ensembles Have First Concert with New Director

The band, led by band director Joe Boertmann, had their first concert of the year on Tuesday, October 27 in the Performing Arts Center at Snohomish High School.
All four bands performed for a crowd that filled every seat in the theatre, with people spilling into the hallway due to a lack of open seats.
“I thought it was a solid first concert,” Boertmann says. “Everyone performed about where their ability level is.” READ STORY »

SHS held their annual High School and Beyond day for students interested in exploring different post-high school options on October 29.
Freshmen were sent to the PAC where they learned about what they could do during their remaining time at SHS and what several alumni did once they graduated from Snohomish High. READ STORY »
Students Add Some Chemistry to Halloween

The science department at SHS put together an assortment of pumpkins with different elements of the periodic table carved into each one on October 30 in preparation for Halloween.
The event was put together by chemistry teachers Holly Hesselgrave, Kris Jones and Brian Gibbs.
Hesselgrave and Gibbs each had three classes of chemistry participate, while Jones had two. READ STORY »
Veterans Celebrated at SHS

Several speakers gave speeches about freedom and patriotism and the Wind Ensemble and the Crimson Singers gaave several musical performances at the SHS annual Veteran’s Day assembly on October 9 in the gym.
Captain Will Lennon, the JROTC instructor at SHS, took over the preparation for the assembly from Tuck Gionet, who passed away this summer. READ STORY »
Junior Kincaid Norris wins Mr. SHS

The Snohomish High School's junior class held their annual Mr. SHS event in the PAC on Tuesday. Male nominees from each grade were chosen to compete in order to gain the title by performing a clever introduction, a talent, a sport, then a walk to the podium with an escort to finish the night off. Senator McAuliffe speaks at Honor Society Induction

National Honor Society inducted over 50 new members in a formal ceremony last night complete with symbolic candles, guest speaker Senator Rosemary McAuliffe, and tradition.
The members sat down in their alphabetically assigned seats and then listened to Kaci Cowan, the advisor for NHS, give a welcome before giving the stage to Dr. Beth Porter, the SHS Principal.
Porter than gave the microphone over to senior Mitchell Beeman to introduce McAuliffe. READ STORY »
Speech and Debate Team Hosts Tournament

The SHS Speech and Debate team held a tournament at the high school this past Friday and Saturday.
