Local JROTC Programs Celebrate Marine Corps Birthday

Snohomish MCJROTC hosted the Marine Birthday Ball at Glacier Peak High School on Nov. 3.
The Birthday Ball is a major event for the JROTC and this year they celebrated the Marine Corps 243rd birthday. The JROTC came together and showed their respect and honor those that are on active duty as well as retired and fallen Marines. READ STORY »

SHS Debate Students Place During Recent Tournament

SHS Speech and Debate team sent students to the tournament that took place at Sedro Woolley High School for two days in the beginning of November with coach and administrator Mary Orlosky.

SHS Students Given the Message to "Not Compare" during MLK Assembly

International guest speaker Keith Hawkins came to SHS for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly and captivated the student body during two separate assemblies this morning.
“I see all the negative stuff,” said Hawkins. “But I realize this, I know that there are way more positive things going on than negative. I know that there are people living in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King.” READ STORY »
SHS Culinary Arts Students Get Creative With a Traditional Holiday Passtime

The winners of the SHS’s Foods and Nutrition classes’ biannual gingerbread show were announced on December 14.
Culinary arts instructor Linsey Turski has her Foods and Nutrition students build unique and creative gingerbread house designs as part of the course curriculum. Her first semester teams set up their gingerbread structures to be judged by different classes from Snohomish High School. Second semester students get to showcase their projects at the SHS Night of the Arts with hopes of winning a ribbon in the category. READ STORY »

Freshman Wins Annual SHS Variety Show

Freshman Arleigh Bjorling won SHS’s annual Variety Show tonight, singing an original composition called “You” while accompanying herself with the guitar.
The 2019 Snohomish High School Variety Show featured an assortment of vocal talents as well as a pianist, a comedic dancer, and a magician. Emceed by seniors Alex Vickers and Elle Everett, fourteen different acts competed for first place with the prize being a featured performance during the spring Performing Arts Assembly. READ STORY »

FBLA Runs Hygiene Drive for Holidays

Snohomish FBLA is running a Hygiene Drive benefitting the Snohomish Community Food Bank from November 12 through December 13, in time for the winter holidays. Students can donate hygiene necessities to families in need, including shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant in travel or regular sizes, to a marked box in their third period class. The drive also accepts cash donations: every $2 counts as one hygiene item. READ STORY »
