March Madness Meets Canned Food Drive

Its that time of year again. SHS is hosting their annual food drive to benefit the Snohomish Food Bank and its recipients.

SHS's ASB has decided to run the food drive a little different this year. Instead of doing just a traditional food drive, they have ramped it way up and are doing a March madness style one. ASB created a bracket the puts classes up against other classes. Students and teachers can bring in canned food or money to donate. Whichever class has the largest amount at the end of that bracket week moves on to the next spot in the bracket where they will face a new class. It goes on until there is one last wining class. Even though classes can get 'knocked out' of the competition, students and staff are still encouraged to bring in items to help the community.

ASB has a goal the every class bring in 1867 cans of food, either from students and staff bringing in actual cans of food or money ($1 = 4 cans of food). The number 1867 was selected because that’s the year SHS was established. The classes that reach that goal will be provided a free breakfast by ASB as a reward for their hard work and dedication to want to help their community.
