Sports Signing for Seniors

SHS held its annual signing for seniors on Wednesday, February 4. SHS sports players signed onto their college teams while posing for pictures. It was a family event with the parents of each athlete bringing balloons and wearing t-shirts from their future schools. Seniors that signed were Gus Baxter, Joshua Dombal, Mackenzie Harris, Vanessa Jackson, Nathan Jacobson, John Magnus, Emily Minogue, Ellie Otteson, Kendal Valade-Nunez, Makenna Wheeler and Kaytlin Willis.

“I’ve been playing soccer for 11 years, and it feels awesome after so many years to finally make it to the next level,” said Willis. For the girls Varsity Soccer team the overall feeling was mutual.

“I feel blessed to have the opportunity to do that, and it shows how hard work pays off,” said fellow soccer player Minogue.

This was a rewarding moment for seniors, but an even more rewarding moment for teachers.

“You’re proud of their accomplishments. They are all Panthers, and I’m happy that they have decided to continue with their education and continue with their sports,” said math teacher and Athletic Director Mark Perry.
