Student gets "full ride" scholarship for horseback riding

Many student athletes get a full ride scholarship to college but Graysen Stroud literally got a “full ride” when she signed with the University of Georgia for to ride on the NCAA Women’s Equestrian Team.

Graysen has been riding horses since she was three years old, and been around them since she was born. Both of Graysen’s parents are horse trainers and show horses. She says her parents never pushed her to be into horses, but let her make her own decisions about what she wants to do in life. She has fallen in love with horses and says it is her own passion to do what she does.

Graysen has made so many accomplishments in her young career with horses already, the biggest goal she has accomplished was competing in the All American Quarter Horse Congress, which is the world’s largest horse show with over 8,000 horses.

Here is what Graysen has to say when asked about her scholarship, “The fact I get to be an athlete and get so many amazing benefits doing what I love, at such a prestigious school is so amazing!” she speaks with joy when she talks about her passion and love for horses.

Other than riding horses she loves hanging out with friends, going to her cabin in Snoqualmie Pass and snowmobiling. She also enjoys riding quads and, of course, shopping and traveling.

The best advice Graysen can give would be to remember that high school only lasts a small part of your life, so make the best of it and try to enjoy it because it will set you up for a successful life if you try hard.
