Snohomish student earns full ride scholarship

Nathan Jacobson, a senior lineman on the Snohomish High School football team, recently verbally committed to play football on a full ride Athletic Scholarship to Eastern Washington University for the next five years.

The 6 foot 5 inch, 260 pound lineman earned All-League honors on both the offensive and defensive lines during his senior year and could possibly earn All-State honors.

During the summer, Jacobson traveled around the Western part of the U.S. and attended many college football camps, including Washington State, Portland State, Montana, Montana State, Central Washington, and Eastern Washington. He was offered full ride scholarships to both Eastern Washington University and Portland State University. When asked why he chose Eastern instead of Portland State, he said; “I chose Eastern because they have a better coaching staff and because Eastern’s athletes have worked harder and have had a lot more success than Portland State’s.”

When talking about Jacobson at a football banquet on Sunday night, Snohomish’s offensive line coach Terry Zupan said, “we haven’t had a kid earn a full ride scholarship to play offensive line in college in 15 plus years, which is a pretty big deal.” He went on to add that, “Nathan is a sure vote for Snohomish football’s All-Decade team.”
