Serpentine Route Change

Friday, October 3 there have been some changes to SHS’s 55th annual Serpentine. This year there will be a different route due to construction. “We didn’t have a choice there is construction going on between Avenue A and 2nd. The street is closed so we can’t go down it,” says the principal of SHS Doctor Beth Porter. Porter has taken precautionary measures to make sure the public is informed of the route change preventing confusion. She has posted a link for the new route on SHS’s website home page and put up flyers around Snohomish to spread the word. Now the route will head south down Avenue B instead of Avenue A. This change is not permanent. Serpentine will take place through downtown Snohomish parading in a snake like pattern, hence the name Serpentine. It is a prideful event where viewers from Snohomish and children have gathered around to watch since 1959. It is essential to our small-town community type feel and everyone is welcome. The parade starts at 10:45 a.m.
