SHS boys wrestling wins against Edmonds-Woodway by 39 points

SHS wrestling team came in to this season with high expectations and are currently rising to the challenge with a win over Edmonds Woodway last night. A win last season against Edmonds Woodway didn’t mean much to the team and expected a hard match.

“I’m really excited about a number of kids on the team,” said Head Coach Rob Zabel. “Tristan Baus [12] is obviously one to watch after last seasons trip to the state tournament along with Noah [Bomar] [11] and Wyatt [Butler] [10] who put in a lot of work in the off season.”

Zabel, hinted fans to watch for SHS Senior, Sawyer Sahlinger taking on Edmonds Woodway Senior Nathan Vulliet, who placed in last years state tournament. Sahlinger fought hard but suffered a loss. Sophomore Mark Curriers’ match was one that took notice after he was behind in points early but late in the match came back to win. “It felt good! That was a close one,” said Currier.

The Panthers won the match and rolled to a 54-15 victory.
