Boys basketball has high goals for new season

The Snohomish boys basketball team is filled with talent and has high expectations for this upcoming season. Many of the boys are returning from last season and it can be expected that they will be working hard.

Two players to watch this season are Seniors Josh Baird and Steele Morgan; both starters from last season. The team elected them as captains and will look to them as leaders this season.

“I think that we’ll be surprised with some of the kids that will be stepping up this year. We’ve elected captains but it’s still early in the season so we don’t really know if they will be the true leaders or if somebody else will step up and take on that role,” said Senior Ty Carlson.

Head Coach Len Bone thinks they will have a lot of competition this year in Jackson, Arlington, and Mt. Vernon. The team has not yet met to establish goals for this season, but they all seem to have one common goal. “Our goals are going to be to make it to the Tacoma Dome and play in the state tournament,” said Senior Josh Shogren.

The basketball team's first game is Tuesday, December 3 where they will take on their cross-town rival, the Glacier Peak Grizzlies.
