Wrestling season is back

Wrestling season is just around the corner and there is still much to do. Wrestlers stressed about getting ready for the season and the loss of a couple key members. With important members gone due to graduating last year and being injured, Snohomish has to find a way not to let this weaken them.

“There was a lot of good seniors, who went to state last year, that graduated but other than that I’m positive were going to do really well this year,” History teacher and wrestling Coach Rob Zabel said, “We have a pretty deep team.”

With one star wrestler Junior, Joseph Profit out for the season because of a broken leg, the rest of the team will have to step up to fill his spot. “It’s not going to be easy, and will take a lot of work but I know we will overcome with the loss,” Senior Sawyer Sahlinger said.

Zabel is excited for this next season and ready to dominate on the mat. He is always looking for a great attitude and positive criticism but other than that he says, “I’m mainly looking for everyone to be the best they can be.”

There is not a definite answer to who will be performing in the first match, it all depends on how the players do during practice. Zabel and the rest of the team are hoping for the best this season. The first wrestling match will be held at SHS December 5, against Sedro-woolley at 7 p.m. Wrestling practice started November 18.
