Spring Band Concert

Snohomish High School had it’s 'Early Spring' concert this Thursday in the PAC. The concert featured the four SHS bands: percussion ensemble, concert band, symphonic band, and wind ensemble.

The night started with the Percussion Ensemble playing three pieces, including two Chris Brooks songs from Latin America. They were followed by the Concert Band, playing another three-piece set , and the Symphonic Band with three more songs. Wind Ensemble wrapped the night up with the final three-piece set.

Pete Wilson, band director, handed out letter awards to many students after each group performance.

“We’ve been preparing these songs for a long time,” junior Sonja Pedersen of Wind Ensemble stated. “Some we’ve been playing longer since we used them at festivals, and others we just started in the last couple months”.

At the MPMEA districts, three of the SHS bands were ranked superior, which as Wilson announced to the audience, was the first time he had ever experienced that in his career at SHS.

The concert was a great kickoff for spring, and there will be another spring jazz concert April 16th. There will also be the Easter Parade in Snohomish this Saturday.
