SHS ASB candidates address student body

Last Monday, candidates for various ASB positions delivered their speeches and answered questions from the student body. The format of the assembly is a question and answer session for the candidates, who answered questions from the student body.

“I think the impromptu questions that made them [the candidates] think on their feet gave me true impressions of them,” Junior Alicia Hynes stated.

One question that got quite a rise out of the crowd was from Max Zinkand who asked, “If you had to persuade the audience to vote for your opposing candidate, what would you say about them?”

“The candidates seemed to be composed and did a good job of not showing their nerves,” Senior Emma Johnson said..

After each candidate finished their speech and the questions concluded, the assembly ended with information about the new online voting system.

“I wish they still had voting in the school, because I probably won’t go online.  I think if they still offered voting in the school they would receive more votes,” Johnson stated.
