Upcoming Changes to Lischke's Kadybrook Farm

The economy is tough these days and it’s hitting some harder than others. Bothell’s Kadybrook Farm, which belongs to one of our favorite teachers, Stacy Lischke’s hobby farm. The farm is being moved to a different location in seven weeks, after she got a nine week notice that 16 houses would be put on their Kadybrook farm.

At Kadybrook farm, Lischke sells pastured poultry and eggs. In addition, she uses her animals to teach others about where there food comes from. It has been her dream since she was 14 years old to have a farm where people and children who didn’t have the chance to have their own animals were able to use hers.  Kadybrook was named after Lischke’s eight year old poodle Kady who has been with her through everything. “Kady is the best dog and would do anything to help, she would kill a rat, chase the horses around for me, she even went to college with me.”

Lischke has been looking for a place in the Snohomish area to move her farm to.  She’s looked at places in Clearview, Maltby and Lake Stevens. So far she hasn’t found anything yet, but she’s hopeful about finding something in seven weeks.  She’s had her farm for three years, so she’s not going to give up on finding another place for it.  “It’ll work out, I know it will.”
