Snohomish coming to a theater near you

Lights, camera, action! Over the summer, Snohomish will have the pleasure of having not one, but two movies filmed in town. Although there have been movies filmed in the Snohomish County area before, residents are rather excited for the film crews to actually come to the town of Snohomish.

One of the movies that will be shot is called “You Can’t Win” starring Michael Pitt. The movie is a period piece about a thief who drifts around the country as a hobo for 30 years in the late 19th, early 20th centuries. They have already started filming a bit in Blackman’s Museum where the general public was blocked off from getting into the shot. Another movie that is going to be starting to film soon is “Vampire Soul: Hidden in Plain Sight”. This movie is being made by Performers House, a non-profit  organization dedicated to helping children in need get to have a chance to be on a stage break into the world of acting.

According to the “Vampire Soul” website is that Performers House’s success is due to a dedicated young girl by the name of Katie Gillette who died at 14 from cystic fibrosis. Gillette was an actress as well as a singer who spent a great amount of her time coaching disadvantaged children. She was truly an inspiration to others and even when she close to death, she asked her mother to continue her legacy. Performers House opened five months following after Gillette’s death.
