Six students receive awards for service

Four SHS Students—Sophomores Danielle Sheets, Nick Juno, Jordan Saunders and Morgan David—are receiving awards for being a Junior Staff member who work at the local Snohomish Boys and Girls Club. Two other staff members, Senior Emma Titterness and Junior Kristyl Osborne, are also being awarded for leadership and community service, respectively.

The students are receiving the Lynnwood Rotary Youth Challenge Award. In order to get the award they had to participate in helping out at the Boys and Girls Club. This is done by working with the kids, by supervising and playing with them. “I’m being nominated to receive my award for volunteering for 3 years, and helping out a lot!” Saunders said. Getting one of these awards is hard work, and takes quite a bit of effort, she said.

These students have all been noticed by the Unit Director of the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club Marci Volmer. She took notice to how well they work for and represent the Boys and Girls club.

Volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club is one way to earn community service. Juno said, “I love being a part of the Boys and Girls Club!”
