Panthers triumph against Spartans

On Tuesday, April 17, at Snohomish High School the Panthers battled the Stanwood Spartans in a Varsity Baseball game at their home field. The Panthers won the games 8-4 after a slow start to the game.

Even through the Washington drizzle, the Panthers tried their best to give their all so they could win the game. Pitcher Casey Fitsch, junior, started the game off with the intent of trying his best, but then Cormick Rizzo, sophomore, stepped up to the  pitching mound. Rizzo had it rough with the Spartans getting point after point. Near the end, the Panthers were able to pick it back up when junior Russell Crippen made a homerun. Crippen stated, “I was just happy that I could help the team out and win another conference game.”

“I thought it was just a well played game… I won’t forget it for a long time,” stated Cormick Rizzo. This was Rizzo’s first win as being a Snohomish Panther. He was one of the pitchers for SHS throughout the game.

Stanwood may not be their biggest rival for the team, but SHS sure know how to pull out a win.
