Track and Field competitors take their shot at the state competition

Six track and field student athletes from SHS will be competing in the Washington State 4A Track and Field meet beginning today.

Last weekend, Senior Leiran Cornish took first in the 400 meter finals.

Last year, Cornish placed eighth in the 400, but experts have her taking home the title this year.  However winning is not Cornish’s main focus. “It’s always nice to win but I run to keep healthy,” stated Cornish. READ STORY »

SHS Boys' Basketball Defeated By MPHS Tomahawks

The Snohomish Panthers JV and C-team boys’ basketball teams played the Marysville Pilchuck Tomahawks last Wednesday night that resulted in a 64-50 varsity loss. The JV team secured a win while the C-team lost a controversial one-point game that led to a physical altercation between two parents from their respective teams. READ STORY »

Grizzlies vs. Panthers, So Close Yet So Far

SHS Boys Basketball Team Defeated By Edmonds Warriors

The Snohomish Panthers' boys basketball team played against the Edmonds Warriors this past Friday, losing with a score of 74-49 in favor of the Warriors.

The Warriors proved themselves to be quite the challenge for the Panthers as they tripled the Panthers' score (4-12) in the first few minutes. The Panthers made an effort to tie up with the warriors by the end of the first quarter bringing the score to 12-12. READ STORY »

Girls Basketball Defeats Meadowdale on Friday

The girls' basketball team finished with a 38-26 win at home against Meadowdale last Friday night. The girls hold a 10-2 record overall and 4-0 in the regular season. 

Going into the game, senior Morgan Marshall said that "[She] was a little nervous knowing [junior] Kyra Beckman wasn’t going to play much. She is a key player for the team."  READ STORY »

SHS Defeats Mountlake Terrace Hawks 47-6 in Near-Shutout

In a near-complete shutout, the SHS varsity football team secured a win Friday night, defeating the Mountlake Terrace Hawks 47-6.

Following the 58th annual Serpentine parade and pep rally, the Panther players started the game strong, with senior running back Keegan Stich pulling first down after first down for the Panther offense, while junior Tyler Massena scored two touchdowns before halftime. At the half, the Hawks were not on the board, with the Panthers winning 27-0. READ STORY »

Panthers Sweep Lynnwood Royals 55-0

The Panthers were successful in their second win of the season Friday night against the Lynnwood Royals, coming back from their loss against Glacier Peak last week to score 55-0.

Senior Keegan Stich, along with juniors Langdon Orgill and Tyler Massena, led a strong Panther offense that continued to slip through the Royals’ defense.

Massena was able to slip past the Royals to run the ball eighteen yards before the end of the first quarter, bringing the score to 18-0 after two more successful Panther touchdowns. READ STORY »

SHS Defeated by Glacier Peak in Annual Rivalry 28-14

In their six-year rivalry, the SHS Panthers lost Friday night to the Glacier Peak Grizzlies 28-14, making Glacier Peak undefeated since 2011.

Coming off an away victory against Marysville-Pilchuck the week before the school year started, Snohomish was adamant to give the Grizzlies a fight, securing a touchdown in the first three minutes of the game by RB senior Keegan Stich.

Girls' Basketball Finishes Third in State after Defeating Seattle Prep and Lincoln

The SHS girls' basketball team took home bronze on Saturday, March 4 at the WIAA Hardwood Classic.

Through continued rigor and determination, the girls were successful in defeating the Seattle Prep Panthers and the Lincoln Abes in order to solidify their spot in the state.

This is the second year in a row that girls' basketball made it to the Tacoma Dome, finishing second in the state last year to the Central Valley Bears. READ STORY »
